Oyster Reefs

Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC).

Anna worked with the Fisheries Conservation Lab at SERC to develop an illustration to communicate the diversity of species on restored oyster reefs in the Chesapeake. During her time with the lab, she spent time in the field to familiarize herself with some of the local fish in the area while collecting trawl data and river herring data. She also designed an activity booklet for outreach events using some of the line work for the oyster illustration.

Currently Anna is working on animating this illustration to create an interactive web experience for viewers to learn more about the illustration and oyster reefs.
