The beginning of a pandemic. I came to Hawaii to head into the field as a Research Assistant for the Hawaiian Monk Seal Research Program through NOAA and JIMAR. Two weeks later, the world shut down. We found space with the water, the empty beaches and the underwater world. And I found endless time to paint, draw, sketch and develop my voice through art.
